I think in order to prepare learners to have curiosity and a questioning disposition, the classroom environment has to value curiosity and questioning. Some of what students learn can be from the textbook, however, it has to encompass real-world examples and applications. It must provide opportunities for exploration and inquiry.
A lot of students nowadays are very capable of using digital/technology for entertainment. How do we transform that power, that motivation into learning is a question. As a teacher, we need to become the catalyst for their engagement. We must demonstrate the value of technology in learning, modeling the proper uses of digital learning tools, and guide learners through various digital activities that are meaningful to their learning.
