Alternate PL - Call to Action

The motivation behind creating the presentation on rethinking professional learning stems from my own experiences as an educator and a deep-seated belief in the power of effective professional development. Throughout my career, I have witnessed firsthand the limitations of traditional professional learning models and the need for alternatives that truly foster growth and innovation among educators. The relevance of this topic extends beyond my personal experiences to the broader educational landscape, where the demand for impactful professional development is ever-present. By addressing this need, we can not only enhance the teaching practices of individual educators but also contribute to the overall improvement of our education system.

The media assignment I created is a 3 minutes presentation titled "Creating an Effective Professional Learning." This presentation explores the shortcomings of traditional professional development approaches and introduces the audience to the Professional Learning and 5 Key Principles of Effective Professional Learning. It includes slides with relevant content, voice-over narration, and transitions to guide the viewer through the key points.

To create this presentation, I utilized online presentation software called Canva. I began by outlining the key concepts I wanted to cover and selecting appropriate visuals and graphics to enhance the message. I incorporated elements of storytelling to engage the audience and highlight the importance of the topic. For the voice-over narration, I used audio recording software embedded within Canva, ensuring clear and compelling delivery of the script. Finally, for the publication of the presentation, I used Youtube Studio to host the video of my presentation.
