Hi! My name is Kelvin Tran and I was born in Vietnam. In 1996, my family and I relocated to Houston, Texas and I am truly proud to call Houston my hometown. I am the first generation in my family to ever graduated from college. In 2008, I graduated with the highest honor, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Houston, achieving a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Upon graduating from college, I embarked on my teaching career at Deady Middle School, an academy specializing in energy, medicine, and aerospace technologies. This marked the beginning of my journey as an educator, during which I've learned numerous lessons. I've come to appreciate the importance of adaptability, student-centered teaching, patience, and empathy. Collaboration and teamwork have been integral to my growth, allowing me to exchange ideas with colleagues. Resilience in the face of challenges has also been a significant lesson, reinforcing my commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment. Overall, my career as an educator has been a continuous path of personal and professional development.

My passion lies in both teaching and learning. In 2023, I made the choice to further my own education by embarking on a journey to attain a Master's Degree in Educational Technology at Lamar University.

Initially, the Idea of pursuing a Master's degree in education filled me with worry. I feared the potential for overwhelming coursework alongside my full-time teaching role, especially as a proud father of three children - a first-grader, a kindergartener, and a 6-month-old baby. I recall the wisdom of Tao Tzu, who once said, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." With hesitancy but a leap of faith, I submitted my application. Looking back, I'm grateful I did. The first course of the Master's program emphasized the significance of fostering a growth mindset, which has profoundly impacted my perspective. It has transformed the way I perceive challenges and inspired them with the essence of learning opportunities. I'm to continue of the master's program and committed to acquires the wealth of knowledge it has to offer.
