Learning is a life long journey...
Reflecting on the contribution to my learning community, I want to reuse this famous African proverb, "If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." to emphasize the importance of collaboration as I was reflecting on my journey through the second-course rotations, EDLD 5303 and EDLD 5313. This proverb reminded me that if I want to be successful and learn a lot, I need to continue collaborating with my team members and connecting with others in the learning community. Christy A. is now my only partner remaining in the original group of 5, others have dropped out of the program or have exited the accelerated ADL cohort.
Contribution to My learning Community
(Courses 5303 & 5313)
In my previous course rotations with 5302 and 5305, I mentioned that I would do better at replying to classmates' posts. I did. I am glad that I did and it wasn't easy completing all the discussions and responding to classmates' posts. Last week was different and I posted late for the Embracing Change discussion. I was in the hospital for surgery and Thank God that it went smoothly and now I am at home resting.
In hindsight, I appreciate being able to take EDLD 5303 - Applying Educ Tech: Portfolio, because it has given me the time and resources to improve my e-portfolio designs and content. Lots of what I learned is through collaboration with Christy and others who have shared their e-portfolio. In addition, going through others' reflections and thoughts in the discussion board was an eye-opener and they provided a wider perspective on Growth Mindsets and Why and Who owns the e-portfolios.
As for EDLD 5313 - Creating Significant Learning Environment, the numerous discussion posts were overwhelming, yet very important to discuss. I appreciate the fact that it has a deadline for each post to keep us on track. In this course, the discussion prompts/videos were eye-opening and relevant to our current issues in education. I have learned about CSLE for the new culture of learning, its revolution, the differences between collecting and connecting the dots, the power of a growth mindset, and embracing the change in our current educational settings. Many course participants contributed to the discussion board and offered a wide range of perspectives. hence, it enriches the learning of this course.
After careful consideration and reflecting on what I have contributed to my learning communities, either through group text messages or course discussions collaboration, I scored myself in
EDLD 5303 - Applying Educ Tech: Portfolio - 95 out of 100
and
EDLD 5313 - Creating a Significant Learning Environment - 93 out of 100.
Overall, I really enjoyed taking these two courses together, especially collaborating with my team members and other participants of this ADL program.
